In this study, we proposed the design method of dynamic vibration absorber for the ropeway carrier suspended to the cable considering the effect of cable. The cable was modelled as lumped masses and springs. The flexibility influence function was used to obtain the stiffiness of spring. The equivalent mass and length of ropeway carrier were obtained by matching the kinetic energy of the cable and ropeway carrier system with a pendulum fixed at the fulcrum. The compliance curves considering the effect of cable was shown.
