The present study reports the numerical prediction method of particle velocity variation with shock wave propagation in metals. The key of the present method is evaluation of the shock viscous stress in the shock wave front. The shock viscous stress is calculated from equilibrium stress obtained by the estimate method of temperature inside shock wave front developed by Sano & Abe. The shock viscosity is incorporated into a one-dimensional finite difference wave code. The present calculation is executed for 6061-T6 aluminum and iron, and these results are compared with experimental data. The present results show that it can reproduce more accurately the particle velocity variations on the shock wave fronts in 6061-T6 aluminum and iron.
