Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have great properties of thermal, mechanical and electronic It is important to control the alignment of CNTs and electric property such as semi-conducting and metric to develop novel micro devices There is an effective method to control alignment of CNTs in polymer composite with a stretching flow and alternating current (AC) electric field In this study, this novel separation and alignment technique of single wall CNTs is introduced and discussed with fundamental experiment results and the numerical analysis of the electric field It is a simple technique using the stretching flow formed between parallel plates to align the CNTs along the stretching direction and the dielectrophoretic forces generating on non-uniform electric field to separate the semiconducting CNTs This technique is significantly effective to prepare the alignment controlled semiconducting CNTs material for micro semiconductor devices
