Fan motors used for cooling power control equipment and data servers generally control the rotation speed using an inverter to save energy. At this time, annoying high-frequency noise is generated due to the switching frequency of the PWM control of the inverter. The inverter is equipped with a modulation function as a noise countermeasure, and CF and modulation can be selected. However, the effect is often not sufficient, and the sensual changes in sound due to the noise modulation function have not been clarified, and it is difficult to select a function for improving sound quality. In this research, we aim to improve the sound quality by considering not only the vibration excitation force of the inverter but also the vibration transmission characteristics and acoustic radiation characteristics.
