In this research, the effect of the inclination of wind turbine blades on the aerodynamic characteristics of a vertical axis wind turbine was investigated using a small wind turbine model that can be deformed by inclining the blades. In the wind tunnel experiments, the blades were inclined 10 degrees from 0 to 90 degrees under wind speed conditions ranging from 4 m/s to 12 m/s. For all wind speed conditions, the maximum rotational speeds were recorded at inclination angles of 10 and 20 degrees. When the blades were inclined to 90 degrees, the rotational speed of the wind turbine decreased to approximately 10% of the rotational speed before the blades were inclined. For the wind turbine used in the experiment, a numerical analysis of the internal flow was performed using steady-state analysis. The calculation results showed that blade inclination causes turbulence in the flow into the wind turbine rotor region, altering the flow hitting the back blades. The power coefficient was maximum at a blade inclination angle of 0 degrees.
