This paper describes effects of shear rate on thrombus formation rate by visualization of thrombus formation on orifice flows using laser sheet. In observation of the thrombus formation process, the brightness of CCD image corresponds to precipitation concentration of plasma protein or plasma concentration. The brightness more than a threshold was estimated thrombus formation area. In this paper, thrombus formation rate was estimated by the gradient of thrombus formation area history near the wall. In the shear rate, thrombus formation evaluated using the calculation result of CFD. Thrombus formation rate was compared with the thrombus evaluation for shear rate. In the result, Thrombus formation rate was found to depend on shear rate. In the result, it was found that thrombus formation rate depends on shear rate. It was suggested that thrombus formation can estimate using shear rate.
