Design-informatics has been proposed for efficient design,namely,it performs efficient exploration for design space and also implements conception support for innovative hypothesis.The results produced by evolutionary multi-objective optimizations are not individual optimal solution but rather an entire set of optimal solutions.That is,the result of a multi-objective optimization is not the end of the process while from a practical point of view the designers need a conclusive shape or few candidates of a conclusive shape.Therefore,multi-objective design exploration was performed as a next step in order to overlook design space.This approach is a stance to passively construct an obtained design knowledge while comparing with design space.On the other hand,design-informatics actively systematizes design information in order to perform conception support for designer.In the present paper,the recent results of optimization and design information using data mining are surveyed so that efficient approach is investigated for conception support.
