The purpose of this study is to evaluate muscular activities on reaching motion in sitting position in healthy adults. A motion analysis system using an electromyography, a motion analyzer with four cameras, and two force plates was used. In order to assess muscular activities, the subjects performed three times reaching motions at two different speeds (basic; 60 beats/m, slower; 40 beats/m). As a result, several muscular activities of slower condition were higher than that of basic condition. This finding suggests that slower reaching motion would lead to higher muscular activities.
