This paper describes a method for computing the distribution of aeroacoustic source around a circular cylinder. The aeroacoustic source is defined based on the Powell-Howe theory, and it is approximately computed from the incompressible flow field. The sound pressure observed in the far field can be given by the space integral of some physical quantity, which we consider as the aeroacoustic source. But, it is a problem that the positive and the negative sources which should be canceled appear at the same time. Therefore, the proper structure of the source distribution is extracted by using a frequency filter. The result was visualized by movies. It shows that the aeroacoustic source of the aeolian tone appears in two regions in the cylinder wake.
