The arterial branch from abdominal artery to renal artery is one of the predilection sites of atherosclerosis. In the present study, the realistic renal arterial branch is modeled on the basis of 3D data obtained from CT image. In the experiment, the axial and the secondary velocity vectors have been measured by PIV. Also, the tangential velocity around the upstream corner has been measured by LDA. And the wall shear stress is estimated the velocity difference between the tube wall and the spot at a distance of 0.6mm from the tube wall. The wall shear stress distinctly changes around the upstream corner. The large change of the wall shear stress along the upstream corner would be closely related with the initiation of atherosclerosis from the viewpoint of hemodyhamics.
