Abstract

TRIPS Agreement, which became effective in 1995, provided the minimum standard concerning the protection of the intellectual property among the member countries. TRIPS Agreement provided the different deadline for carrying out the minimum standard according to the situation of each country. Developing countries and least developed countries were given the extension of the deadline until 2000 and 2005. Therefore, the patent laws were frequently revised in many Asian countries. In this report, I am going to show you the trends and the issues of the intellectual property policy in Asian Countries based on my interviews to many Asian countries.
