The compressive strength of a single vertebral body can be estimated using CT-FEM for each elder osteoporotic patient, and the fracture risk of the patient can be assessed using the vertebral strength. On the other hand, the spine of the patient consists of 24 vertebrae with sacrum and coccyx. It is therefore thought that the compressive fracture of a vertebra takes place under the biomechanical conditions affected by the vertebral neighbors. In this study, we created a spinal model consisting of 5 vertebral bodies using CT-FEM, and performed a compression test of the model to reproduce the compressive fracture phenomenon. Then, the relationship between the strength of each vertebra and the fracture phenomenon was examined.
