PWSCC is a potential degradation in dissimilar weld joints of nickel alloy 600 in PWR plants. A PWSCC flaw shape of a butt weld is rectangular rather than semi-elliptical. In order to conduct SCC crack growth calculation, stress intensity factor (K)-solutions for a cylinder with a rectangular surface flaw were obtained by assuming stress distribution along the thickness direction as a third order’s polynomial equation. A code case of crack growth evaluation for nickel alloy welds of the Rules on Fitness for Service of the Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2021 refers to those solutions, together with the K-solutions for a flat plate with a semi-elliptical flaw.
