In this study, carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) are coated on a resin substrate of PET in align for the purpose of adding piezo-spectroscopic sensitivity to strains, and spectrum change of the CNT coating under tensile load was measured by micro Raman spectroscopy. It was examined whether strain of the PET substrate can be measured in μm spatial resolution. As a result, the peak wavenumber of Raman spectrum varies linearly with strain. It was also found that strain component can be detected depending on the direction of CNT alignment.
