In order to achieve efficient production in large item small volume production systems such as FMS (flexible manufacturing system). a scheduling have an important role. However, a schedule obtained in advance can not correspond to situation that high-priority order and machanical trouble are suddenly arised. In order to cope with such an unexpected situation, it is effective to carry out re-scheduling in real-time. But, in order to obtain a good solution which require mass computational power, it is said that the meta-knowledge which changes and performs a plan according to a situation is effective. This paper describes the system which achieves a real-time planning using the knowledge base incorporating meta-knowledge. The planner which uses meta-knowledge for the layer of a higher rank chooses a policy to be use scheduler such as SPT rule or EDD rule. Moreover, a better schedule can be obtained by adding more new meta-knowledge to a planner.
