We report on ISO14649 proposed as CNC data model in next generation, replacing G code in usual. This standard is nearly completed for machining shape of a hole and 2.5D, but is not for machining free surface. This paper argues a merit and demerit of this standard for the purpose of machining die/mold consisting of free surfaces with high speed and high precision.
