As mist cooling is known to be an effective method to increase heat rejection and to reduce size for air-cooled type heat exchangers, various studies on its heat transfer characteristics had been reported in the past. In this paper, the efficiency of mist cooling utilized to multi-flow type water-to-air heat exchangers is investigated and it is confirmed that the efficiency is much influenced by the temperature of surface on which mist is applied. Improvement of mist cooling efficiency is achieved by using unequal-spray to apply appropriate amount of water depends on the surface temperature of heat exchanger.
