Abstract
Recently it has become an aging and decrease-in-the-birthrate society then human-friendly robot which can support and assist human being directly is expected. We think it is important for a mobile robot to have not only the safety function to avoid a collision with human being but also the function to announce surrounding people the following motion of a robot before beginning to move. This paper discusses preliminary-announcement function for mobile robot with a laser-pointer. We developed the PMR-1 and proposed the expression with a laser-pointer. We have confirmed its effect by some experimental results.
