In this paper, we propose a layered sensor using a PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) film for material identification. In the proposed sensor, the optical property is measured by an infrared LED and a phototransistor. In addition, the electrical properties are measured by PVDF films, which each electrode is constructed by the transparent conductive electrode (ITO electrode), arranged on the surfaces of the infrared LED and phototransisitor. Moreover, the contact voltage is also measured. In the experiment, the possibility of material identification including the color and hardness is shown by using the measurement values of optical, and electrical properties and contact voltage.
