Abstract
We make a proposal for a music baton system for visual handicapped persons. This system is constituted by an acceleration sensor, a radio module, and a haptic interface device. The acceleration sensor is built in the music baton grip and the data are transmitted by the radio module. A performer has a receiver with the haptic interface device. The receiver's CPU picks up rhythm from the data and vibrates the haptic interface device. This paper is described about an experiment of comparing the visual and the haptic interface. The result declares that the haptic interface is an advantage for an assistance of visual handicapped persons.
