There are people who can't transfer on them own and need help for the move from a sitting posture to other sitting posture. However, many of them want to transfer without assistants. Therefore, we developed a robot that assists them to transfer on them own. Namely, we have proposed a self transfer assist robot that the handicapped can transfer to a desired position without assistants. In this self transfer assist robot, it is important to carry a function that the user operates the posture of the robot easily. In order to increase usefulness of the self transfer assist robot, in this paper, we discuss posture adjustment functions that the user can change the posture of the robot easily and comfortably in the start of transfer.
