Inertial sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) are widely used in wearable sensing field for understanding human activities such as automobile driving, sports. and healthcare training. This paper discussed a method of estimating upper limb movement in automobile driving using the inertial sensors. To evaluate the method, we have conducted a experiment that angle of ldegree of freedom rigid pendulum system were measured by using both the rotary encoder and the accelerometers. The root mean square error of pendulum motion measurement was 1.5 degree at about 1Hz.
