Abstract
Subjective assessment of force display capability of two haptic devices with diffrent gear mechanisms is investigated in this paper. A criterion function is proposed to evaluate the results of subjective evaluation. Significant difference (p<0.05) was found between the zone of lighter stimulation and the zone of heavier stimulation. This result suggest that sensitivity in the zone of lighter stimulus show a superior performance than in zone of heavier stimulation.
