Abstract
We are developing mechatronics education program using line tracing robots which are controlled by microcomputer. This program is applied to the new students as an introductory course of engineering experience. The class consists of hardware, software development of the robot, and its evaluation. As a new approach in the class in 2011, we strongly recommended to the students to develop a new robot with original features. For examples, at the beginning of the class, we invited our OB and had a lecture about the importance of originality. As a result, a lot of students developed various robots with original features.
