There are many high temperature environments in industry, research and exploration fields. Actuators for manipulation in those fields are desired. But, functional materials lose their function in high temperature environment. In this study, we propose a new actuator which uses working fluid volume expansion with phase transition. Actuator driven with this principle has a potential for use in high temperature environment. In this paper, we report about the first prototype of this actuator which uses water as working fluid.
