Abstract
Actual sensors embedded in a multi-axis accelerometer are not aligned with the package directions in general. Proposed method realizes to measure the direction gaps between actual sensors and package directions and also estimates the sensitivity. This paper describes a new exciter device with a variable length linkage for the examination. The new device is equipped with an automatic posture changer for the target sensor. The new exciter achieves remarkably smooth rotation within 0.36% frequency change at the rate of 0.5 Hz. With 4 PDA (iPod touch), sensor direction tensor and sensitivity tensor are identified by the exciter device.
