The task development overview of Japan Virtual Robotics Challenge(JVRC) is explained in the paper. JVRC is a robot competition using a robot simulator in order to promote the utilization of disaster response robots. Some lessons learned through JVRC are also explained in the viewpoint from task difficulties and community.
