Abstract

The authors proposed the tapered circular cross section mechanism composed of the crawler and the roller and developed the first prototype model in former research. This mechanism has high step traversability because the tip of the crawler is tapered. In this paper, the authors designed and developed the second prototype model of the circular cross section mechanism to reduce running resistance compared with the first prototype model.
