Most of remotely controlled system for ship use a satellite communication system to send and receive operational commands. However, the satellite communication system has lots of problems such as slow traffic and delay. In order to attenuate these problems, a long-range Wireless LAN system has been applied instead of the satellite communication system. Experimental results to investigate characteristics of image transmission in wireless LAN at the sea are shown.
