Abstract

We proposed a valved hybrid fractal stent for treating unruptured cerebral aneurysms. An unruptured cerebral aneurysm is one of cerebrovascular diseases. The stent has a coil catheter insertion hole. The stent is formed by a fractal pattern. A fractal pattern is a self-similar shape and gives a flow diverter effect to blood flow to a cerebral aneurysm. Simulation by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was performed to evaluate the flow velocity of the blood flow in the cerebral aneurysm. From the result of analysis, we succeeded in reducing the flow velocity of the blood flow in the aneurysm.
