Abstract

The forth author has been developed a piston finger technique for restoring the motor function of chronic plegic fingers, reducing spasticity and improving muscle shortening. The final goal of our work is to develop a piston finger device (PFD) simulating the PFT. In our previous work, we analyzed the finger motions during the treatment with PFT by using a motion capture system, and then decided the required specifications of the PFD. In this paper we manufactured a prototype device of the PFD and verified to satisfy the required specifications by experiments.
