OpenSim software is a free platform for simulations of human movements. Its source is open and extensible with an application-programming interface (API) that researchers can extend for several fields, such as rehabilitation, sports and ergonomics. Moreover, it is possible to modulate the muscle model for the simulation. We have reported a new muscle model with two Maxwell elements and a Voight element in parallel. In this study, we simulated an ankle response by slope landing with using a sample data of OpenSim. The slope angle changed from 20 to 30 deg. We evaluated the risk of injury during landing and designed assistive device to prevent injury, with a passive or active ankle–foot orthosis with considering muscle reflexes. We are going to change the default Hill type muscle model to new muscle model, which expect to improve the simulation of human nonlinear behaviors.
