In this paper, we report the new discovery of relationship between a swarm of Madagascar hissing cockroaches and environmental temperature. First, we observed behavior of swarms at different temperatures through accelerations of them, similarly observed the acceleration of one cockroach. Next we normalized the absolute value of each acceleration data in a system, and took the sum of the data of the swarm. Finally, we used the difference between average and median of total data as a new value to indicate the activity of the whole swarm, and named it “Spike-Degree”. There was no relationship between the Spike-degree of one cockroach and temperature but was clearly relationship between the Spike-degree of swarm and temperature. From this result, we considered that activity of swarm relied on interactions between them, and Spike-Degree closely connect with activity, therefore we discovered that interactions of swarm increased with environmental temperature increase.
