In this paper, personal space representation for a home robot is proposed for the psychological sense of distance between the human being and the home robot, as one of safety measures at the time of moving or serving. Even if the home robot performs avoidance behavior based on information such as sensors, a human being easily enters into the safety distance held by the home robot, because the human being can not feel the personal space of the home robot. As a result, the home robot may fall into a deadlock and the desired action may not be taken. We use the color of light by LED as a representation method of robot personal space. By changing the color of light, we verify by experiment and questionnaire whether we can give psychological distance feeling in the approach of the human being and the home robot.
