This paper, we propose the principle of measuring the flow of automobile and people using a distance sensor, and describe the traffic-flow and people-flow sensor system developed using the measurement principle. The TRAPO, a developed traffic floow measurement sensor system, has actually succeeded in measuring traffic-flow on a bridge, and has been used to measure of traffic-flow in other studies. The people-flow sensor system was developed with many distance sensors to support complex people-flow measurements. It was confirmed from distance sensor data that multiple people could be distinguished from each other even if they were passing densely.
