A wearable hands-free-stick (HFS) has been developed using robotic devices in order to assist the ability of walking balance, mainly for an elderly person who can walk by himself/herself. However there is no sufficient discussion about the influence of HFS on gait motion. This paper analyzes the gait motion with and without HFS by means of the quantitative indices of ZMP, COP and COG, and demonstrates that the HFS can assist the walking balance ability without unacceptable influences.
