Disposable one time use glass micropipettes are used for single cell pickup system. Micropipettes are fabricated by glass puller and have slightly different lengths and shapes. We propose a detection system using a two-axis laser sensor combined with visual detection by conventional microscopy for accurate micropipette tip position detection. We have achieved a detection accuracy of 27 μm using laser sensor, and the total detection takes 2 min.
