After natural disaster occurs, unmanned ground vehicles are required for prompt rescue operations. However, their traveling in the disaster area has serious difficulty. The tire has a risk of punctures due to debris covering the ground. Moreover, traveling on loose ground has another risk of getting stuck of the vehicle. Therefore, an airless wheel that can change its stiffness is developed. Whereas problems in automation of the mechanism remain. Changing the stiffness automatically requires information of traveling road of the vehicle. This paper proposes a judgment system of traveling road using camera and AI in order to automate the variable stiffness wheel.
