Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop an upper-body assist suit that is easier for the user to use. As a basis for this study, we conducted a muscle synergy analysis focusing on the elbow bending and stretching motion. Muscle synergy analysis was conducted based on the results of electromyographic sensor measurements from multiple muscles during the bending and stretching of the elbow, assuming the lifting of an object. The analysis showed that the number of muscle synergies in the elbow bending and stretching motion in this experiment was 2, which represented more than 94 % of the original signals.
