Abstract

Extending the operating range of forklift-type transfer robots is important for the automation of distribution warehouses. In this study, a forklift-type transfer robot equipped with a weight support mechanism, which supports the weight of the vehicle body, was developed. The developed transfer robot is equipped with auxiliary legs that can move back and forth in the dolly section and can lift a pallet on the floor by interlocking with the weight support mechanism. We also proposed a strategy for traversing steps using these two mechanisms and confirmed the effectiveness of the developed transfer robot through experiments.
