Optimal designs for electromagnetic motors using topology optimization have been actively researched. However, the results of such optimizations depend on the mesh of the analysis model and often include features that are challenging to machine, such as intricate concavities and convexities. Previous studies relied on intuitive modifications by designers, lacking a clear theoretical or technical foundation. This study aims to achieve a transformation into machinable shapes using an algorithm with a rational procedure. In this presentation, an algorithm based on fundamental image processing techniques for rounding corners in the rotor core of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) designed through topology optimization is proposed. The proposed algorithm is applied to the motor rotor core shapes generated through optimization, demonstrating its effectiveness.
