Abstract
This paper describes analytical methods of fluid erosion based on wide range experimental data. (1) The erosion phenomenon is a kind of high cycle fatigue induced by the ultrasound fluid now load fluctuation. The durability for erosion is proportional to the wall surface tensile strength. (2) The shear stresses cause erosion even if which are less than the fatigue limit. Because it is assumed that the equivalent string of dislocation hne segment is in the resonant conditions when the vibration frequency is larger than about 20kHz, so the multiplications of dislocation may be caused by smaller shear stresses than the fatigue limit. (3) As to erosion analysis, at first the correlation of the incipient conditions of erosion is derived, and then the correlation of surface regression is derived. (4) As to now analysis, two cases are analyzed, one is the ultrasound vibration of water now in the two parallel circular plates, and the other is the boundary layer bursting load fluctuation in the solid rocket nozzle. (5) The comparisons between the calculated erosion results and the test results are fairly cood. And the validity of the analytical methods of erosion is verified.
