The similarity parameter of deployable membrane for solar sail systems is examined theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical similarity parameter is derived with large deformation theorem of rotating circular plate and expressed by the geometrical parameters as the radius and folding pitches, and the material properties, and the spinning rate. The similarity parameter is examined by the experimental results for the scaled model. Finally, the results indicated that the similarity parameter was proportional to the radius and the folding pitch.
