It is important to lower tire temperature to increase the durability. Flow turbulence plays an important role to enhance the heat transfer across sidewall surface. Experiments with the aid of CFD reveal that placing radial rib in optimum pitch length to height ratio is effective. As a consequence of the application to run-flat tire, the reduction of tire temperature and hence the increase of tire life are achieved.
