This paper reports a preliminary experimental result of tsunami interaction phenomena with cylinder models for tsunami mitigation effect in rectangular horizontal channel. The process of simulated tsunami wave interaction with simple cylinder models in rectangular channel was observed by a digital camera. The velocity of simulated tsunami wave after interacting with cylinder models was measured a laser interrupting signal by passage through the wave.
