Production and distribution of agricultural products are closely connected, with distribution involving important elements such as shipping processing, transport and packaging etc. Strawberries are most important commercial product. All of them are soft varieties and transported long distance. It was found that distribution losses for strawberries increased at the beginning of spring. In this study, an investigation of firmness and damage due to transportation vibrations for strawberries has been added. Firmness of strawberry decreased to half that at the beginning of the cropping season. In comparison the number of vibrations required to cause damage before and after shipment, the idea of fatigue breakdown is believed to be applicable with regard to the effects of long-distance transportation.
