Various Research/Development and enlightenment on energy and environmental problems are undertaken at Ashikaga Institute of Technology (AIT) and each of five departments in AIT has been conducting an activity for our regional community concerning its specialized area. Specifically, application of renewable energy is studied by a group of researchers in ME department; energy saving devices, in EEE department; energy saving house/building and construction method by natural matrials, in Arch. Department; living/natural environmental protection, in Civil department; and establishment of sustainable society, in SI department, respectively. Although the accumulation of knowledge on individual problem is necessary, integrated study between the problems is much more important to understand the energy/environmental issues which are closely connected and interactive each other. To realize the cooperation between each group in AIT, we started a new educational program AEEE (Ashikaga Energy and Environment Education) Workshop in 2005. We reinforced the above five groups by including the members from the elementary schools, junior high schools, and high schools in the region to build the integrated educational programs on energy/environment valid for all the generations. Our final goal also includes constructing the system to deliver the inclusive educational program to all the schools of different generations. In the present study, the renewable energy group newly developed teaching materials adopted in the workshop are introduced.
