A 58-year-old woman visited our clinic complaining of a small mass lesion on the tongue margin. The clinical diagnosis was a lymphoepithelial cyst and surgical resection was performed. Pathologically, the mass was lined with stratified squamous epithelium showing parakeratinization, and a lymphoid follicle structure with a germinal center was observed adjacent to the cyst wall. The cyst was located extremely superficially and taste buds were present in the covering mucosa and lining epithelium of the cyst. The superficial lesion was attributed to invagination of epithelium.
