Abstract

Two hundred ninety-two initial visitors to an Ob/Gyn out-patient clinic in a certain hospital in Tokyo were surveyed about their sexuality by questionnaire from Decomber. 1997 through March 1998. Samples and methods were the some as ones of the first report. The frequency of sex was : More than once a week was 36% and once or twice a month was 40%. Fifty-five percent of women older than 55 had no sexual activity. Seventy percent of the respondents spent 20 to 30 minutes for an intercourse and the time tended to decrease with aging. Forty-three parcent stated that they got tired with lengthy intercourse. This response was significantly less at ages between 35 nad 44 than other ages. The percentage of women who were frustrated with brief sex was significantly low at the age between 45 and 54. About 30% answered, "My husband does not respond to my sexual desire". About 40% felt not in accordance with their husbands. About 40% were worried about their husbond's unsatisfication for their sexual habit. Regarding their husbands' sexual desire, 50% were sometimes bothered by it and 50% have refused their husbands' request. These responses were significantly greater in the 45 to 54 age group.
