This paper was intended as investigation of relaion between visual image affected by shape and dynamical characteristic that relates to the shape. Simple cantilevers were chosen in order to exclude the prejudice received from products. The stress distribution was calculated by the finite element method as the dynamical characteristic. As a result of the sensory evaluation, the visual image was explained. Furthermore, the following three relations were suggested by considering the rerations between the distributions and the visual images. (1) The average of principal stresses and the sense of stability. (2) The average with angle of principal stress vectors and the sense of relief. (3) The standard deviation of angles of principal stress vectors and the sense of novelty.
